I voted!

by erin

I hit the polls bright and early today, and am now sporting one of these bad boys:

I really hope all of you vote today, and that you encourage your friends and family to do the same. Regardless of your politics, voting is one of the most important rights we have, and it pains me that more of us don't exercise it. Less than 100 years ago, women didn't even have the right to vote. Less than 100 years ago!!

Although Minnesota doesn't currently have an animal rights issue on the ballot, if I have any readers from Missouri or Arizona this morning, I urge you to take a close look at two initiatives on your state ballots. From a Humane Society email:

Missouri puppy mills are cruel and the way these dogs are treated is wrong. Prop B will stop puppy mill abuses by establishing common sense standards for the proper care of dogs.
Vote YES on Prop B!
Arizona's Prop 109 is a power grab by politicians that could take away the voting rights of Arizonans and replace scientific wildlife management with partisan politics.
Vote NO on Prop 109!

So if you haven't already, GO VOTE!

Thanks for the props (no pun intended)! Let's defeat this bad proposition!
